Seven hills, and the Atlantic light comes over all of them
Lisbon is built on hills that put you above your own subject constantly, which is a gift. I shot from one of the miradouros looking across the rooftops, waiting for the point in the evening when the terracotta still held warmth but the sky behind had gone properly deep.
Lisbon faces the Atlantic through the mouth of the Tagus, and the sea air keeps the light unusually clean. The city was rebuilt on a grid after the 1755 earthquake, which is why the older quarters feel so different from the lower town.
The image is infused into the surface of the metal itself, not printed on top of it. Starlight reads as actual luminance rather than ink, which is why astrophotography belongs on metal.
Care: Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth. No cleaners, no glass spray.
